**Update** A spokesperson for Keir –
A Kier spokesperson said:
“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to the residents of Wealden for the recent disruptions to service. It does not fall in-line with our usual high levels of service and we are doing everything we can to rectify this.
We are actively recruiting new staff to allow us to fully deploy during the busy summer period. We appreciate all the support from residents as our teams work in these very hot conditions and we would ask for their continued support during this time. We are committed to serving the residents of Wealden and we are confident these new measures will have a quick and positive impact to service.”
Many residents in Uckfield including Framfield are reporting on social media that their waste bins have not been collected.
Katherine from Framfield reported: ‘Part of Framfield. They took part of it on the correct day, came and got some of what they had forgotten but then still left the rest. This was on the 22nd June. Our recycling has also been left since Friday but they collected some of the village’
A member of social media suggested that contact was made to the District Councillor.
Katherine replied: ‘Believe me I have been on the phone and email everyday not nothing is working. I have been promised I am told we have been on their emergency list since Friday but still no sign of a collection. I’m totally at a loss as of Friday our household waste will have been in the bin for 4 weeks and standing in this heat and sunshine for two week’
Mr Clark from Framfield called into Uckfield FM this morning (5th July)
He said: “That it’s been nearly a month since refuse was collected from his home on Framelle Mount in Framfield (just off Sandy Lane). Flies are around it and his wife saw a rat this morning in between the bins” They have been in contact with their local councillor.
