Residents in Uckfield have taken to social media in a discussion about bins that have not been emptied.
Areas on Manor Park including Browns Lane, Neville Road, Uplands Close, New Road in Ridgewood and parts of Keld Avenue are reporting full bins.
Resident Trevor Weeks contacted Uckfield FM and said:
‘Rubbish nor recycling not been collected for weeks now, a month in some areas.
Everyone get a different story when it is reported and apparently it has all been caught up with now. We haven’t had either collection here now, having to take rubbish to the casualty centre to get rid’
‘Brown Lane, lots of other roads off the main road, both sides of town. It was said all scheduled collections would be as normal but we didn’t even get them’
Wealden District Council issued a statement yesterday as follows:
e are hoping to have completed all catch-up collections by the end of the weekend.

All recycling and refuse collections scheduled for this this week will take place as normal although, some areas may still experience delayed locations whilst we continue the recovery work.
Garden waste collections are suspended until the end of Friday 9th March to assist with the recovery of collection outstanding from last week and will resume again on Monday 12th March.
Please be assured Wealden District Council and its waste collection contractor, Kier, are working tirelessly to empty refuse and recycling bins that could not be collected last week due the sow and icy conditions. Due to the wide area affected this will take several days although we are aiming to have this completed by the end of Sunday 11th March.
To prioritise the refuse and recycling collections we regret that garden waste collections have been temporarily suspended until Friday 9th March so please do not place your bins out if you are due a collection up to and including that date. This will enable vehicles and crews to be utilised elsewhere to catch up. Scheduled garden waste collections will resume on Monday 12thMarch. We would like to thank all of our garden waste customers for their cooperation and understanding and apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

If we were unable to empty your bin last week due to the conditions, please continue to leave it placed out as normal. We will be returning to empty this at the earliest opportunity but please bear with us as it is taking several more days to clear everything that is outstanding.
For current scheduled collections, please place the bin out for collection by 7am on the scheduled collection day as normal.
