There were hundreds and hundreds of knitted poppies on display today in Selby Garden, Uckfield.
The event organised by the Newtown Action Group and called ‘Poppies in the Meadow’ took place in glorious warm sunshine in the little haven off Selby Garden.
There was tea, coffee and cakes for the Remembrance Day Tea Party commemorating the end of World War I.
There was painting with Artytime where children painted a pebble, lots of memorabilia of the war years and a memorial for the Uckfield men who died in the war.
Poppies were on sale for £1 each and the proceeds will go to the British Legion.
The poppies on display are planned to be on display at Bridge Cottage in November
One of the organisers Velda Reed spoke to Uckfield FM’s Mike Skinner
