Police investigating the theft of Fergie the tortoise from Blackberry Farm in Whitesmith, near Uckfield, are delighted to say he has been returned safe and well.
The two-year-old Hermann’s tortoise was stolen from the premises shortly before 5pm on Saturday (8 September).
But following a Sussex Police appeal on social media, he was returned about 11am on Tuesday (11 September).
Staff at the farm said he has been reunited with his companion Dexter, and wished to thank everyone for their help and support.
Fergie and Dexter were donated to the farm by a visitor, and both are microchipped.
Officers have engaged with the suspects involved and enquiries are ongoing.
