This was a CPJ Field event covering all aspects of end of life planning. The exhibition was opened by the Town Mayor Cllr. Spike Mayhew and his deputy Cllr Jackie Love.
The event dealt with all matters connected with end of life planning including wills, hospice care, funeral planning, celebrants, humanist ceremonies and funeral repatriation. Also bereavement counselling, therapy pets, florists, monumental masons and registration.
There was also an opportunity to look at the progress being made with the District’s first ever crematorium which is being built at Horam. It is expected to open early next year. You were able to talk to people involved in the project and discuss the range of facilities that will be on offer. The Crematorium will include a Flower Court, Garden of Remembrance and Chapel suitable for all denominations. It will be set in a landscaped setting with ample car parking and state-of-the-art audio visual facilities.
The ‘More than Just a Funeral’ exhibition took place from 10.30 am to 4 pm on Thursday 13th September at Uckfield Civic Centre.
