Luxfords Restaurant in the Civic Centre Uckfield will be getting a new look in the next few weeks with support from local contractors.
Restaurant customers took part in a survey in 2016 and although respondents liked the comfort of the restaurant, they suggested that the space needed updating and modernising, and the seating needed to be refreshed. Luxfords restaurant has not been fully refurbished for over 20 years and the Town Council has now approved plans to make improvements.
New look with old favourites
The new look for the restaurant will provide a modern, fresh and contemporary feel while maintaining its friendly, warm and welcoming ambience. The refurbishment plans still include some of the things that customers love about Luxfords restaurant including adequate space for people to move around, comfortable seating, space for pushchairs for mums and toddlers, free WiFi and table service.
The restaurant menu was updated in April this year to include some new offerings such as the Luxfords Club Sandwich alongside the old favourites like the ever-popular home-made scones. Further plans for the lunchtime menu include meal deals, takeaway options and quick lunches for busy workers.
During the renovation, customers can still enjoy the food and service as the restaurant will be relocated into the Weald Hall. There will only be a handful of days when the restaurant will be closed completely.
Once refurbished, there are plans to introduced more themed events in the evenings the first of which is an Italian Opera Dinner on Friday 26 October.
Diners will enjoy a sumptuous Italian three-course meal while being entertained by Glyndebourne Soprano Thomasin Trezise singing some famous opera arias.
Details of other evening events will be posted on the Civic Centre website – www.civiccentreuckfield.com
