Local Authorities and education providers to make sure that Bikeability cycle training is delivered to the very highest standards.
Every year around 20,000 children from years 5, 6 and 7 are trained on all levels of the Bikeability.
Bikeability cycle instructors are continually assessed, mentored and undergo professional development training, ensuring that they maintain an unblemished reputation for health, safety and quality and is based on the government approved National Standards for Cycle Training, which teaches trainees the necessary skills to ride confidently on today’s roads.
More children are cycling, more safely, more often. Bikeability is the modern version of the cycle proficiency training programme. School children gain practical skills and understanding of how to cycle on today’s roads. There are three Bikeability cycle training levels taking trainees from the basics of balance and control off-road, all the way to planning and making an independent journey on busier roads.
