Every year we meet and interview so many fantastic people and organisations in our local area who tirelessly work under the radar making others’ lives and our local area so much better.

This is Uckfield FM’s small contribution to looking at what our local unsung heroes achieve!

Volunteer of the Year Award
Nominations for the person who has made a significant impact through voluntarily giving their time freely and selflessly to others in the community.

The person who has been the most innovative and enthusiastic whilst working to raise awareness and funds for their charity – this will not necessarily be the most money raised.

This award is for an individual from the local sporting scene who has achieved or made an impact in their sport.

Uckfield Matters
Young Person of the Year Award
For the young person (Under 18) who has shown bravery in overcoming adversity or who has excelled and demonstrates a huge personal achievement. 

Scott O’Hara: Scott has shown much resilience.  He is passionate about his local community and has a passion about stage lighting and sound – covering local events.

 

Jack Ward: Jack continues to raise funds locally in 2016 he decided to make stars for the local church and raised a grand total of £80

 

Team Alpha:  As part of the National Citizenship Service Programme, Team Alpha based in Uckfield made up of 13 passionate and creative young people raising money for the mental health charity YoungMinds.

The person who has selflessly gone beyond the call of duty through their work. This award is open to any person in the Emergency Services, First Response Units, Paramedics or other organisations which respond to incidents.
