From the offset Newick pinned Holbrook deep in their own half and looked determined to come away with an early score, but were let down by a lack of accuracy.
The Newick pack were applying so much pressure at scrum time that Holbrook infringed throughout the game.
With Newick winning the collisions it seemed a matter of time and with a huge hit from David Woods setting the tone Newick found their feet can it led to a well worked try dotted down my David Hollands with the conversion the halftime score was 7-0.
The second half started much the same as the first with Newick being the more physical, this led to a try for David Woods.
A moment of defensive madness and some uncharacteristic mistakes saw Holbrook dive over in the corner.
This was the kick back into life that Newick needed and with an amazing piece of solo play Jordan Whiting kicked past the centre and danced his way down the wing beating the winger to the ball to touch down in the corner and a fantastic kick from the touchline to top it off.
The Newick pack wanted the last word and the forward pack practically threw David Hollands across the line for his second try of the
afternoon. The defensive speed of the backline was impressive all game and the forwards showed true grit.
A great team performance and a lot of room to grow and with more players becoming available next week a squad that is looking to dominate. The fortress stands strong.
Man of the Match: Jordan Whiting
