Lions International

Two Uckfield young people have received awards for their help in raising money for Uckfield Lions.

The Uckfield & District Lions Club were pleased to present Tyler Creech with a Certificate of Appreciation on Saturday 15th July in recognition of his help during the last twelve months with the Club’s fund raising activities.

Over the last year Tyler has been a weekly volunteer in the Lion’s second hand bookshop, which is situated in Olives Yard just off the Uckfield High Street, helping to serve customers and sort deliveries that come into the shop on a Saturday afternoon.

In addition to helping with the bookshop, Tyler has been involved as a helper on other fund raising events. All the hours that he has worked are accumulated towards the Lion’s Young Leaders in Service Award which is a national award presented by the UK branch of Lions International”

Another certificate of appreciation was presented to Elizabeth Macve who also helps in the bookshop every other Wednesday. Elizabeth was joined by her parents, Chris & Maureen when John Gilbert presented Elizabeth with her certificate.

Both volunteers were thanked for their continued support & help in raising money for Uckfield Lions.

In the year ending June 2017, the bookshop has raised over £14,000 for good causes.
