The five bands appearing at this weekend’s Isfest are being featured this week on Uckfield FM.
This will be the fourth festival organised by the Little Horsted Bonfire Society in order to raise funds for the firework celebration and on good causes in the village.
With the help of Uckfield FM’s compere Peter Suter, music and entertainment kicks off at 2.30pm…
The live music line-up kicks off officially at 4.30pm with STRAW DOGS, a Sussex based, 4-piece acoustic Irish folk band that have played many of the usual venues around the area. Straw Dogs were “scouted” by the Isfest organising team after seeing them play at the Con Club in Lewes. They play a great mix of foot stomping, traditional music that everyone will recognise….The crowd won’t be able to sit still for long!
Next up is Rack N Ruin. They are a four-piece band – two guitars, bass and drums, that have been together for five months. They play a wide choice of classic rock covers, with a couple of surprises! They are not afraid to cut loose and a good time is guaranteed for all.
Psycho Babble are up next. They are a five-piece local Sussex band playing a blend of rock, punk, and indie. They have supported signed bands like Inspiral Carpets, The Bluetones, and Shed Seven on tour at Concorde2 in Brighton so they know their stuff and have played live on air on various local radio stations. They have also played small outdoor festivals such as The Horsham Rock and Blues Festival and The Gig In The Garden in Hampshire and so are perfect for the vibe of Isfest.
Andy and Eric were interviewed on Tuesday by Mike Skinner:
The penultimate act is Dethonator. An exciting, four-piece Heavy Metal band, with guitarist Henry Brooks, also known to many Isfield locals from his weekly appearances at The Laughing Fish. Dethonator have earned a formidable reputation for their hi-octane, exhilarating live performances and their immediate, anthemic songs.
Henry was interviewed on Uckfield FM:
They gig regularly in the U.K. and have undertaken ventures into Europe to play short tours and festivals. Dethonator have had the privilege of supporting artists such as Kobra and The Lotus, U.F.O., Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, Sacred Mother Tongue, Onslaught, Orden Ogan, Blaze Bayley and Furyon, as well as many other reputable bands in the British underground.
Last on stage will be THE SKARLETTOS, an energizing cocktail of rock, pop, post punk and ska based in Sussex. They are regulars on the local festival scene with a very loyal and enthusiastic fan base.
Andy Brooks from the Laughing Fish – Guest today 4:30pm (Wednesday 6th) with Stephan Butler. Here what he had to say:
